FrazierBand is an original newgrass band from East Nashville, Tennessee, USA started in 2010 by John Frazier (composer/singer/multi-instrumentalist). The band’s first full-length recording project was released in 2012 and FrazierBand played over 100 shows from 2012-2014 to support the album, including tours of the Southeast, Northeast, and Colorado, as well as appearances opening for Sam Bush and Greensky Bluegrass, and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. In February 2014, FrazierBand released "Live at the Five Spot," a live album that captures one of the 5 shows the band did at the now famous club. "Live at the Five Spot" offers a watermark of how the band sound evolved during its first two years. FrazierBand is currently in production of a second studio album, slated to be released in early 2015.
John Frazier is an American composer, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, bandleader, and record producer. He co-fronted the award-winning contemporary bluegrass band Hit & Run in his early twenties while living in Colorado before relocating to Nashville, TN in 2007, where he established himself as one of the most sought after instrumentalists and vocalists in the bluegrass, newgrass, and jam-grass community, in addition to supporting several country and americana artists with their tours and recordings.
In the winter of 2010, Frazier founded FrazierBand and began pre-production on a full-length recording project. The project features original songs/compositions written by Frazier and performed by a group of musicians that he assembled from amongst his friends in Nashville. The style of music is a fusion of bluegrass, rock, pop, and jazz, and draws influences from the experiences that Frazier has had throughout his life living in different parts of the U.S., traveling as a professional musician, and existing as a human. After completing the recording in the summer of 2011, the band began performing in and around Nashville.
